Part 7: Leveling up in Inachis Empty Part 7: Leveling up in Inachis

Post by Howie Feltersnatch March 1st 2010, 1:16 pm

Welcome back for another installment!

*Edit: Leveling up In Inachis isn't exactly a good title for this in
hindsight but deal with it, I'm too busy to go back and change it now.
lol

When I left you last, I made my final move to Inachis but I forgot to do
the PvP I had planned.

I'm not going to have enough AP to do all 4 battles because I had 2
fails against F2 testing something out. I am going to do F3 still after
11. Hopefully, I don't screw up that one - that's the wildor fight and
I'm hoping to get another Wildor's Dagger drop - those are ideal
weapons for me and will be useful for several more levels. See you in
the morning.

RESET

Worst luck EVER!!! Blew through the first 3 fights without issue but
then Sir Civet in F4 beat my ass 5 times in a row. I watched the replay
each time I was beat and it all comes down to really crappy charm draw
order. It happens sometimes, but 5 times in a row just killed me this
morning. Anyway, after the second one, I went ahead and spent some gold
on 2 ea. of Armor and Ward from the vendor because they are better than
what I have - Yeti fur only goes so far you know... Anyway, I'm out of
AP now and screwed on F4 so I'll just have to wait to do it again later
tonight. Oh well .

RESET

Adjusted my decks and blew through all 4 fights in Inachis, no really
good drops - bummer. Worked my job and then used my move to go to
Aleas. Used my special deck of things I want to level for the Colossus.
Holding off on PvP until I can do many at once tomorrow morning.

RESET

Again with the colossus using special deck. Made a new special deck for
PvP that had stuff I want to level up but could still win - included no
ward or armor so I could also work on building recklessness. Used that
deck to do PvP against other level 11 dudes who had PvP scores below
1460 and won them all. Made much progress on my battle skills that were
not yet level 1 and some recklessness points as a bonus.

RESET

Ran the colossus, moved back to Inachis, worked a regular job to boost
my stats (Flower Shop Assistant), crafted some new PvP items, sold my
crap, checked my decks... Waiting for enough AP to raid the Tournament.
Also decided to go ahead and adopt my Santa Turkey as a pet so I could
get him out of my inventory - I'm not planning on doing anything with
him yet so he will sit and stay cheerful until then. Raided Tournament,
no issues.

RESET

Worked my same job and raided the Tournament. Beat by F3, waiting for
more AP to finish my run. Finished and moved to Aleas. Did colossus and
some PvP.

RESET

Colossus and a little bit more PvP.

RESET

Worked and then moved back to Inachis. Raided the tournament. A whole
lot easier at level 12 with those PvP crafted weapons. We're almost
done with this but I will keep up the same pattern until I get Lightning
Reflexes x5. Trust me when I say you will NEVER Archive this charm.
My level 40 guy uses these still. These extra action charms are key to
winning many many battles. I'll see you back here again once I get my
x5.

RESET

Got my last Lighning Reflex drop I needed. No issues at all with the
raid now that I can use my level 12 PvP charms. I worked a normal job
and used my move to go to Eclis. Raided the Level 12 Thunderock Canyon
dungeon - 3 fights:

F1 - x2 Opponents - Heavily Armored - Mostly melee attacks

F2 - 1 opponent - Heavy armor and ward - a few split melee/magic but
mostly melee, some corrosion that eats armor

F3 - 1 opponent - uses lots of cumulative armor and ward - mostly melee
attacks so armor up and use high penetration or destructive stuff to
break through.

RESET

Raided Thunderock again this morning, no issues. I could do some PvP,
but I think I'll save my AP so I'll have enough to do several things
after the next reset. My plan for today is to do another Thunderock
raid after reset and then use my job to move to Inachis. My Horseriding
skill is at 90, so today's work should max out R1 and unlock the
conveyor's job to move 2 cites next time I need to do so. That should
also put me at level 13 as well, so Skyrift and Wildhowl will also
unlock. But while In Inachis, I'll raid the tournament again, I only
have Wildor's Dagger x1 and I'm hoping for another one to drop. Then
I'll use my normal move to go to Aleas in preparation for tomorrow's
move reset. While I'm there, I may as well use the Colossus to farm
skill in my weaker weapons with my higher level dungeon buddy.

RESET

Blew through Thunderock, worked to move to Inachis, as expected, maxing
my R1 Horseriding skill leveled me so now level 13. Blew through
tournament - no Wildor drop at all - stingy bastards! Used my move to
go to Aleas - need 1 more AP to do Colossus... damn. Oh well, will do
Colossus sometime tonight. See you after reset.

RESET

Did colossus to build some of my weaker skills, as usual. When I
logged in, I had a little surpise waiting for me because of the bounty -
beat out a level 16 dude trying to collect. This is the power of PvP
crafted weapons, let me share it...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RESET

Ran the Colossus again, with Groo this morning. XXXXXXXXXx the Golem
Crusher! Woo hoo! My first title. Almost got my fire skill to R1 on
this run. My ward skill is almost maxed at R2 also. So from my special
deck, I have removed all my ward and a couple of fire and replaced them
with Fist so I can build that to at least R1. I only have 8 of those
so it probably won't rank it, but at least it will help add to the
73/100 it's at now.

As I currently have 174 AP, I will do a little PvP. The plan for use my
amazing travel skills to work and move 2 cities away to Skyrift to buy
Cut Amethyst x5 so I can craft Iron Kneepad in Lumina later tomorrow.
After I buy those, I will use my move go to Wildhowl to buy a few more
black leaf so I can craft Glyphed Shoulderpads x3 in Lumina also
tomorrow. If you remember, I already had black leaf x2 from doing the
cursed forest runs, wish I had all 5 but those are the breaks with
drops.

Remember when doing PvP that for every level above you, you save 1 AP.
I will start at the level 16's and target lower PvP scores and work my
way down the levels and try to save as many AP as I can to maximize my
run. We have a special purpose for these soul fragments this time. We
will be pre-purchasing our level 17 gear in preparation of that level
jump once we finally get to Lumina tomorrow.

PvP is done... I won 14/15 against level 14 to 16 dudes, leaving me 45
AP. Maxed out my Sap skill at R1 and as I have little armor/ward in my
PvP deck, got some of each of those, getting them closer to R2 but I
also got my Recklessness skill up to 80/100, an increase of about 20
points because of those matches where I drew none at all. This is
because I put the smack down on them and got quick kills, mostly because
of my Lightning Reflexes (x5) extra attack charms which also resulted
in me raising my Quickness skill to 45/100 - not a bad way to start the
day! I have 36 Soul Fragments waiting to be spent and we will get more
by the time we reach Lumina.

Oh, I forgot... As a guild member, you can buy the level 13 Ornate
Items from the guild showcase! No need to spend time and money
collecting for these items. If you need some GHP to get some, just ask
me or one of the other officers and we'll be glad to give you some from
the guild's pool. After all, that's one of the best advantages to being
a guild member and the reason we fight all of these GvG battles.

As plannned, I raided the colossus - built some fist weapon ans some
destruction skill. I used my job to move 2 cities to Skyrift. I'm not
even going to try this dungeon until I'm level 15 and can use willpower.
Bought my Cut Amethyst x5 and used my move to go to Wildhowl. Bought
the Black Lleaf x3 I needed and decided to try the abandoned manor.

Abandoned Manor: http://estiah.aswt.net/index.php?title=Abandoned_Manor

F1 - 2 Assistants for you and 4 opponents that have melee attacks that
heal them; use ornate armor x5 and the rest offensive.

F2 - 1 Assistant for you and 2 opponents with heavy armor/ward
destruction plus high penetration attacks, go pure offensive here. The
knight has armor so go magic if you can. Poisons may work well if you
have them. Some focus helps and the assistant has some, 1 or none for
you.

F3 - 1 opponent with heavy melee attacks and some DOT; use the same deck
from F1.

F4 - I Boss (Vampire) uses melee, DOT and something called melee drain
according to the wiki, he has equal Armor/Ward in one charm (20 points);
use Magic and Armor - I used the same deck from F1 and F3 and won.

Here are the decks I used:

------------------------------------------------

Manor F1 F3 F4

27/27 charm slots

Focus Staff x2

Brawler's Ice Scroll x5

Lightning Reflexes x5

Ornate Bronze Shield x5

Thundercall x3

Ornate Ice Staff x5

Quick Blade x2

Summary

Gear 'Manor F1 F3 F4' (27 charms)

Melee: 12 (45% P)

Magic: 241 + 57 (32% P)

Armor: 175

Extra attacks: 7

------------------------------------------------

Manor F2

27/27 charm slots

Brawler's Poison x5

Focus Staff x2

Wildor's Dagger x1

Ornate Ice Staff x5

Brawler's Ice Scroll x5

Brawler's Daggers x2

Thundercall x3

Lightning Reflexes x4

Summary

Gear 'Manor F2' (27 charms)

Melee: 36 (38% P)

Magic: 235 + 57 (32% P)

Extra attacks: 4

Poisons: 6

------------------------------------------------

And now I'm out of AP. See you tomorrow.

RESET

Had to do F1 3 times and F4 twice but still raided the manor
successfully. To bad I'm doing this at a lower level and can't use the
drops yet... Oh well. When I hit level 15 all kinds of charms are
going to show up for use. Will save my AP so I can run it again before I
move after the reset.

RESET

Raided Abandoned Manor again only twice for the first fight this time,
blew right through the other 3 without issue. My inventory is very full
right now so It's time for us to finally get back to Lumina and craft
some charms - the ones I originally talked about in Lesson 6. Using my
normal move to get to Lumina.

Used a big chunk of my cash to get White Loadstone today to use as a
booster for Guild building. I was actually in all the right towns today
to either buy White Loadstone or Divinium Bar and all 9 of the guys I
play got a full 20 points building today!

I've crafted the Iron Kneepad x5 but decided to skip on the Glyphed
Shoulderpads since my Balance skill is already maxed until level 20 and
with the Ornate items in the guild's showcase, why bother, that stuff is
way better. If you remember correctly, I only managed to get Liquid
Rock x2 while in Eclis, so I can only craft Quick Glyph x2 at this time.
I will probably not waste a trip back here again for some time since
at level 13, the cursed forest does nothing at all to improve skills.
That also means there's no point in doing it now either, so I'm going
to save my AP. The Inachis dungeon is in the same category since it's
level 10 so I think I'll work my job and go to Aleas and run the
colossus to build up my other battle skills I need to work on. But
before we leave, let's go ahead and free up some inventory space... Time
to visit the PvP craft shop again.

In the shop, I crafted Level 17 weapons this time. I know what you're
thinking - level 17 is a long way away, right? Not really. The real
point here is to be ready for it. And since Level 12 and level 17
weapons are crafted from the same soul items, why bother crafting items
that will outlive their usefulness. I made Ice x5 and Spear x1 and I
now have 0 soul items remaining because they cost x6 for each. We'll
fix that shortage in Aleas tomorrow though. For now, move to Aleas
using your job and do the colossus again. I've made arrangements with
Inigo this time.

Did some PvP tonight to further develop my weaker skills. I just
leveled up my fire and gained a level in the process. Now I'm level 14,
with the following skills: (0 means it just leveled)

Maxed at Rank 2 (180/180): Twinblades, Frost and Lightning

Maxed at Rank 1 (100/100): Sap, Tactician, Courage, Balance,
Spirituality, Quickness, Heroism and Recklessness

Working on Rank 2 (x/180): Ward 169, Armor 141, Holy 84, Mace 46, Spear
39, Axe 19, Shadow 17, Fire 0, Sword 0

Working on Rank 1 (x/100): Survival 93, Self Defense 90, Fist Weapons
77, Burst 35, Empowerment 35, Cheat Death 20, Destruction 6

RESET

Beat up 6 level 17 dudes this morning to minimize AP use. Will run the
colossus in public or with a new (future) guild memebr since I don't
have any of my ALTs in Aleas. And I think it's about time to end this
portion and start Part 8: The Left Coast.
