I really like a lot of the aura charms for burst damage too. The ongoing damage is great when you're playing a lot of damage charms and have relatively few non-offensive charms (e.g. armor, ward, will, summon, bane, aura, spirit, & buffs). But if you're playing a lot of these type of charms, the aura boosts - like Mana/Power Surge - will do a lot better.
