Hey, I was lookin thru the skills, and Mentoring gives some sick bonuses! So if anyone is plannin to make some chars and wants to add me as a mentor, I would be thrilled. I hope this is the right spot for this, Estiah, general seems like a good place anyway.

This is the link if you are makin a new guy and want to add me as a mentor, it would be rad!

You're going to play those characters, right? You get mentoring points as your mentorees level up, not as they register.

I invited both to the lower level estiah guild we've got. Hope to see you around!

That guide is great, you don't need to follow it step by step but it really give you insight on how to farm skills, where to get them and what's important.

My suggestion is to do no jobs until you're level 30 or so. Jobs make you level up faster which means less HP at your level.

But make sure you do the jobs that give you skill points you need for level 40 specialization, before you hit 40. With some classes it doesn't matter, like pyromaniac, but with others it takes forever, like assassin.

You really almost need to do that with your 2nd character since the leveling process takes so long without working. Plus you learn so much leveling a character, even if you do it wrong you realize what you need to do to make it better. I was lucky enough to take over leongrin's toon which was already at level 30 when mine was 15ish.

i have been tryin to skip jobs and just get some of the really good lookin skills up a level now while i assume its easier, i wanted to fill in heroism and maybe cheat death or spirituality

i like the idea of having more hp and spirit than the avg person my lvl too, ive been trying to lean towards that

How do you get skill points if you take no jobs. I know when you PvP and dungeons you get them, but what I have seen so far is that I am missing attributes for charms.

Yeah, the drawback to not working is that you won't be able to use the best charms at your level. Spears, Swords and Spirit have the most distributed stat requirements though, so if you focus your growth just a bit on pow/dex you should be able to use some decent charms while still maintaining high HP.
HP skills generally give more con/int than dex/pow so you'll need to focus on leveling skills like quickness, burst, destruction, sword, spirit breaker and shadow if you want to keep your pow/dex ahead of con/int.

cheat death is easiest to get at level 7 against the prairie sprite, but not bad at higher levels against the goblin shaman. If you have over 108 HP, you can get CD very easily by stacking armor and letting all of his magic attacks go through. However, you need decent armor charms (and cumulative armor is better). He can do up to 16 melee per hit, so make sure you have that covered.

Self defense is easiest to get if you have a bounty or a really low PVP rating. Self defense is one of the hardest skills to acquire (outlaw is probably the hardest) since no one wants to lose their PVP fights. I know that when I grind PVP stuff I always start with the weakest toons (lowest rating 2+ levels ahead of me for max efficiency) and work up.

I can confirm the thing about outlaw - my outlaw is 105/220 and its been like months since Iv hit lvl40 -_-

Anyways, about leveling, another way is to just do all of your +HP skills and then simply do jobs - it might backfire at like lvl50, but you are gonna have fun till then which isnt a bad thing at all...

if we were all around the same level couldnt we get together, put up bounties on each other and lose fights to each other to grind up self defense or outlaw? or is that a dumb idea for some reason
