Anyone Beat the Ice Princess? - Frost Fortress
I missed the Frost Fortress until now, but I can't seem to beat the Ice Princess or the Bear. My guys with lots of auras can't get past the bear, and no one else has enough auras to beat the princess. Anyone have a non-class-specific example I could look at for ideas?

No one? Rats, I can't do it with either of the 3 guys I've tried - two high aura monks, and one low aura wizard. Actually, against my monks, I swear she didn't play aura-boosting charms... so I'm stumped

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
Good idea howie, here are some examples from three different guys:
http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17653971/owner/47686
http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17608485/owner/50128

http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17740756/owner/41090
My best strategy has been this - hit her every round with magic damage. This wears out her ward, so cold whisper doesn't wipe me out. It also gets rid of her cold blood protection as fast as possible. But I'm running into exhaustion problems before she gets halfway dead, so even if my charms were double as powerful, I still wouldn't get her.

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
It looks like your getting alot of actions stacking against you, such as below. have you tried any self cleanse charms?
Ice Princess uses [Frozen Ground]
Whanana's summons duration is decreased by 5 turn(s)
Whanana's auras duration is increased by 2 turn(s)
Ice Princess's auras duration is increased by 2 turn(s)
Cold Blood takes effect, Ice Princess loses 10 life
Cold Whisper takes effect, Whanana takes 3 magic damage (17 warded)
Ice Javelin takes effect, Ice Princess's ward raises to 25
Cold Blood takes effect, Ice Princess loses 10 life
Cold Whisper takes effect, Whanana takes 25 magic damage
Ice Javelin takes effect, Ice Princess's ward raises to 30
Cold Blood takes effect, Ice Princess loses 10 life
Cold Whisper takes effect, Whanana takes 30 magic damage
Ice Javelin takes effect, Ice Princess's ward raises to 35
Cold Blood takes effect, Ice Princess loses 10 life
Because of Burn, Ice Princess takes 2 magic damage (3 warded, 2 pierced)

That's a good idea, but cleansing only wipes out curses on me - that damage happens on her turn. http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17743403/owner/41090

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
Aha, got her. http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17743231/owner/47686
For every bane I put on her, she takes some self-inflicted damage. That's what really does her in. The screwy thing is that for each bane I put on her, her -summon charm increases my aura length by two rounds. I don't know how to take advantage of that really - the martyrdom & novice auras seem useless against her. Later on, prismatic charms are nice, and some +ward auras, but that's much later.
But anyway, that's the trick. Spam banes, and make sure her ward doesn't build up any ward. That's a really hard dungeon for level 31. The village of Cyneth & Narkels private collection are substantially easier, and they're quite a bit higher level.

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
It looks like that win was a fluke, I can't replicate it even with the same action set. This double-kill was the next closest I came: http://www.estiah.com/character/combat/replay/id/17771110/owner/47686 though I didn't really have any other close ones.
She uses 4 charms in order.
- First, cold blood, that makes her immune to the next 2 melee & magic hits. You get 4 charms before she does it again, so at least half of your attacks get wiped out (more if you're mixing melee & magic). It also makes her lose 10 hp/turn for the next 4 turns.
- Second, cold whisper, which does 25 damage, plus does damage = to ward for the next 4 turns.
- Third, ice javelin which does 20 damage, and adds 5 ward/turn for 4 turns.
- Last, frozen ground, which wipes your summons out, and - for each bane/curse you have on her - adds +2 duration to all auras.
She has 2000 health and she's immune to at least half of all your attacks, so you won't be able to just outright kill her. You have to use the self-damage from cold blood against her. You can put banes on her to extend the duration of the self-damage, but that extends her cumulative ward, and ward-dealing damage auras. If you can survive those, then you're ok.
You can't let her build up ward, or she'll wipe you out with it, so you need to attack with magic damage almost every round. And you need ward or you won't survive, but you can't just pile on ward or her ward will build up. You need to put banes on her for the self-damage, but each bane also increases her ward & the damage she does with her ward - so it is a catch-22. Whoever created her is diabolically clever.
I don't know, she drops lawful will, which is an awesome AoE charm, and I'd love to have some for guild battles. Some of the crafts from the ice lily she drops are sweet too. But she also drops a weird debuff charm, which requires the chaos skill (which I haven't even seen), and all the charms are pretty specialized. Maybe I'll come back at level 40+ and see if I can trash her then.

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
banes and auras FTW. She extends the duration of your auras for every bane on her and takes 10 damage for every aura you have active.
Make a deck that's made of ephemeral shades (EA ward destruction) to keep her damage down (she does ward projection) and then just pile on an even amount of banes and auras (longest duration possible, actual effect hardly matters).

Eh, just use magic banes. You get enough of those on her and her immune to magic (2) goes away really fast and so does her ward.

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
any tips for the damn bear in fight 1? With the purge and clease the bear has and the cpb melee it seems like you need to take him out quick, but i just don't have the damage charms to do it .

Re: Anyone Beat the Ice Princess?
Just use your best damage charms without CPB. + to next is ok since you only have like a 1/4 chance of those getting purged, but overall, just focus on one damage type and do as much damage as you can. No auras, no CPB, no banes, just whack him until he falls down.

Sleep potion helps a lot to keep your health up as an aura. Thanks for the tip about the banes. Banes (any kind) plus sleep potions are all you need to beat the princess.
