L.44 Unearthed Horrors - Lumina
This dungeon takes 3 people, but it is dead easy. There are two opponents, but you only need to kill the primary guy, and he'll play 30 round protect charms. Pile on melee damage and constant power boost - e.g. blood pacts, night cloaks, hyphused stuff, the usual. Extra action damage charms are nice because they eat up the 2 hit immunity. No need to focus or protect, but AoE stuff can be handy - e.g. white sealing orbs, melee buffs, lawful will if exhaustion is a concern, and more.
I've been running "melee pw1" groups on this dungeon, and I haven't had any problems.

My usual tactic for this as a lead is to play a lot of double hits and EAs and tell my group to CPB. I don't worry too much about CPB myself since his aura protects him from most of my attacks.
If you have purge or anything that decreases auras this fight is super easy.

Ok I realize I oversimplified this dungeon. Looks like you need to reduce his auras or it is quite difficult. Slayers have mana rupture and inquisitors get black agony. But at level 40, everyone you can pvp craft devastate. I guess there are higher level charms that do this better - like desolate, superior swordplay, crush hope, demoncrusher, soulcleaver, & fate of acamar - but it'll be a long time before I can use those.
You *can* win without these, but it is bleeding hard - you need multi-hit charms (10x is best, 5x will do), extra action melee charms (at least 10x, Quick Blades, Honor Thrusts, & Rapiers are fine), some will (lawful will if you're using auras otherwise release karmas), and your heaviest hitters should be last in the lineup. I use 5x release karmas, no blood pacts (adds will rather than does spirit damage), and sometimes I'll throw in Borrowed Time.

Has anyone killed off the "roots of corruption?" It could be targeted with Nature's Claw and all the "lowest health" charms - like heartseeker, and all the assassin charms. I just wonder what happens if you beat it - if you still have to beat Thornscourge, obviously it'd be useless, but if that was it & you won, it might be worth trying.
If no one knows, I've got an assassin in Lumina now. If we got two more together, I'd like to give it a try.

It's really all about your group for this one.
1st does EA with melee damage and 2 hit charms
2nd & 3rd do CPB melee. Blood pacts are huge here so are 2 hit charms (slash and thrust type)

Re: L.44 Unearthed Horrors - Lumina
I finally got a winning deck for this, that does well even with weak allies -
- 15x double hits [slash & thrust, fireblade, wavesplitter]
- 15x extra actions [quickblade, honor thrust, rapier]
- 15x cpb [blood pact, karma, night cloak]
- 15x damage/ward [slashing axe, tide of blades, strike]
- 1x ukko's indifference (I'd do more if I had them)
I had devastates too, to reduce auras, but I didn't think they were worthwhile. If I had staffs of decay, those would be worth adding.

You know what's a great charm for this dungeon? Demoncrusher. Too bad you can only get one of them and have to clear level 47 dungeons 50 times to get it...

Purge make this soooo easy. I was trying to get through with a few toons that don't have alot of melee EA charms or 2 hit charms. I put my slayer in position one and was no problem!!

What's the trick to the achievement here, killing the roots?

Yes. And then you still need to kill Thornscourge to win the fight. So 6000 damage against enemies that get immunity to direct attacks.Howie Feltersnatch wrote:What's the trick to the achievement here, killing the roots?
