Ok I figured it out. If you use this charm in a duel you can get points towards the "Trickster" title. Several other charms also earn "taunter" points, all of them have no other effect.

Trickster is much better than spirit appeaser or golum crusher.

Day 2798
My Density Analyzer will soon be
complete. This Device will be able to read the energy level of any
magical item, and determine both its composition and the place where it
was assembled and enchanted. Just the thought of the possibilities
prevent me to sleep... I can't help but thinkof all the treasures I
could find and lost mysteries I could solve with that!

The Analyzer prototype proved to be a failure. Even while
scanning a Flame Crown, all I got was a loud beep and a jolt so violent
it made my whole body sore. I'm sure the device can work, but the
precision is so low that you'd have to scan items amazingly powerful to
even have a basic report - the kind of stuff I would never be able to
lay my hands on.
This is a terrible letdown.

I've
decided to keep the device. Maybe I'll be able to sell it someone that
can meet people owning relics powerful enough to activate the Analyzer.
This
might even allow me to raise the funds I need for my new project...
